This non-competitive, fun game could, in theory, be played by any number of people, but a small group of 2 to 4 probably works best.
The players first select some random word --you could pick a word from a book or newspaper, for example, or ask an adult.
The first player has to come up with a word that starts with the letter in which the original word ends.
Then the next player must find a word that starts with the letter in which the new word ends; and so on.
For example, if the original, randomly chosen word were "mother", the first player could say: "room". The second player could continue with "month", and the third player (or the first again, if there are only two players!) could say: "home".
Each word may be used only once.
The objective of the game is to make the chain as long as possible. To do so, each player should not only try to find a word that starts with the required letter, but he or she should also try to make it easy for the next player to continue the chain!
